Ashley + Jake Couple Session | Lake Tahoe, NV | Reno Photographer

So about a week ago, I hit 2,000 followers and I know that isn’t really a big deal to most– and quite honestly, it’s not really a big deal to me either. But it was a great excuse to do a giveaway for a session before I head to Vegas for my bachelorette party (YAY!). So Miss (soon to be MRS) Ashley won my giveaway and chose to do a couples session with her fiancé. I was stoked because they modeled for a styled shoot that I was doing styling for and I’ve been wanting to do photos of them ever since! So we decided to head to these meadows outside of Lake Tahoe for this playful session!

Ashley sent me a picture of this dress that she was going to wear and I knew we had to shoot in a field. This field right here is covered in snow from Oct/Nov through whenever Reno/Tahoe decides to get warm (May or June?). And for some reason, I only ever think to shoot here during snow. But this time I remembered!!! There was a solid amount of mud from snowmelt, but we found some dry spots and we got our feet a little dirty. Jake had to carry her over a few streams, but we had a blast!

Ashley + Jake are getting married in July and I am so stoked for them. I really love getting to hang out with two people that are so in tune with each other. The coolest part is when you can just tell how much they love each other because of how they interact. And when I said weird things like “drunk walk in a circle” or “prance around and do weird stuff”, they didn’t even bat an eye, they just did it. 

And then, Jake did the cutest thing– he grabbed this little purple wild flower and put it in her hair. I about died.

These two are the cutest models ever and I was so grateful that they let me play with different creative ideas. And it was fun to finally push myself to step out of my comfort zone in photography. It feels amazing to get better at the thing you love doing!
