Oh sweet, sweet Paria + Michael. Other than their strong love for food and drink, a love that I, too, understand on a deep level, they laughed and played and danced and they’re just my kind of people. This in-home engagement session started in my favorite way, with a nice baguette and tasting some delicious wine and it really only got better from there.
I showed up to the house and Michael, who works as a sommelier at a Momofuku, was preparing a pretty spread for us to do photos with. And it was complete with a wine from Mexico that they, oh-so-graciously pleaded for me to try because it was THAT good. This little scene was the cutest starting spot for their engagement session.
Before I got to this session, I asked Paria + Michael what kind of music they like to listen to and I got two different artists— the first is a nice lounge music that is perfect for hanging at home and cooking to (it’s the music P + M cook to!) and the second was Post Malone, which I am down for because Post Malone is one of my favs too. :’)
The lounge music was by the Gotan Project and it inspired some nice kitchen dancing and a whole bunch of laughs.
Right about now is when the slow Post Malone variety started playing and these two got pretty cozy in all the best ways.
When we first met, there was a photo that Paria showed me from Pinterest that she just loved, so we had went ahead and recreated this in our own way as well. Here was the inspiration!
The second part of our engagement session was at Red Rock just as the sun was going down and the sky was turning to the prettiest cotton candy gradient. They put on some warm jackets and we went an explored in the fields among the Red Rocks.
Some of my favorite photos are taken when my clients are all cuddled up. If your outfit permits, I am probably going to ask you and your babe to get real cozy in the field or on the rocks, whatever we are working with.
Did they ever think they would be “awkwardly” lying down, cuddling in a field? Probably not. It just takes some convincing that the more awkward they feel, the better the photos will look!
Example freaking A is below.
And we ended the night with these darlings dancing under the moon. Yes, legit dancing under the moon. Talk about romantic. + I am telling you, these Vegas sunsets light the sky up in ways I have never seen before. You HAVE to see it for your own eyes.
Once the sun was fully down, we made it back to our cars and parted ways until these babes’ wedding in June!
XO
